Cancer is the cardinal water sign, represented by the archetypes of the Crab and the Mother. Ruled by the Moon — the celestial body that governs tides, cycles, and the subtle rhythms of our emotional world - Cancer rules the fourth house of home, family, and land. As such, Cancer is considered to be the nurturing divine feminine essence and “Mother of the Zodiac.”
The Zodiac wheel is a journey through the archetypes. Aries represents the sense of self, or ego, beginning the journey. Taurus continues the journey with the physical body and five physical senses. Gemini represents the analytical mind. And Cancer is the emotional or energetic body.
